How to migrate from Tasty Pins
This article will guide you through the process of migrating your posts' hidden Pinterest images and image Pinterest descriptions from Tasty Pins to Social Pug.
Downloading the Migration Add-On
The add-on file download, named “Social Pug – Tasty Pins Migration Add-On”, is available from your account on DevPups, under the File Downloads tab.
The downloaded file should have a .zip format. If you find that the file is actually a folder, please make sure your browser doesn’t automatically unzip downloaded files. If your browser does unzip files automatically, please see this article for more help.
Installing the Migration Add-On
The add-on is a regular WordPress plugin that can be installed directly from your WordPress’ Plugins admin page. To install it, navigate to Plugins -> Add New, click the Upload Plugin button, found besides the page’s title, and upload the downloaded .zip file.
Once activated, the migration options should be available in Social Pug -> Migration Tool. You need to have Social Pug installed and active in order to see this page.
For the migration process it is not mandatory to have Tasty Pins active.
Note: If you have another Social Pug migration add-on active, for example the Social Warfare Migration Add-on, please deactivate it.
Migrating the Pinterest Hidden Images
If you’ve set custom hidden images within Tasty Pins for your posts, you can migrate them over to Social Pug with just a few clicks.
To do this, firstly, navigate to Social Pug -> Migration Tool. Here, in the first box, shown in the screenshot below, click the Migrate Single Post Data button.
As soon as you confirm the start of the migration process, the add-on will run through all your posts and check to see if any hidden images were set. If images are found for a post, they will be migrated over to Social Pug.
For the below example, if the following images were set in Tasty Pin’s box for a certain post:
They will be migrated over to Social Pug as follows:
Note: In order to see the Pinterest Hidden Images section in Social Pug, the Multiple Pinterest hidden images option must be enabled in Social Pug -> Settings -> Pinterest Settings tab -> General Pinterest Settings section.
Important note: The migration process does not replace or populate the main Pinterest image of a post. Only the Pinterest hidden images will be affected.
Uninstalling the Migration Add-On
Once the migration process is finished please check that your data has been migrated properly. If everything is good, you can safely deactivate and delete the add-on from your WordPress admin Plugins page.
If you find any issues with the migration process, please open a support ticket for assistance.
